Groups

Parish Sisters.	Sisters of The Holy Rosary. They assist in hospital visitation and in arranging for the provision of Eucharistic Ministers for the sick and housebound.
Cleaners.	There are six groups of volunteers who clean the Church and sacristy in St Mary’s at suitable times. St Columba’s Church has a man who looks after cleaning and fabric. If anyone wishes to assist they should contact one of the priests or Mrs McDonald whose telephone number is in the Parish Bulletin every week.
Servers.	About twenty boys and girls assist in presenting the liturgy - aged from nine to fifteen.
Music.	There are two groups one for vigil Masses (Music Group) and the choir which assists at the 11.30 a.m. Mass on Sundays and rehearses for one half hour afterwards. All welcome to join. Contact the people in charge at each Mass. There are a number of organists who assist at both St Mary’s and St Columba’s.
Children's Liturgy.	Helpers assist with the children at all weekend Masses every fortnight and weekly in St Columba’s.
Other Ministries.	Bereavement Counselling. Sacristans. Altar Fabric. Covenants. Passkeepers. Readers. Eucharistic Ministers. Flower arrangers. Decorators. Padre Pio Prayer Group,(meets monthly). Marriage Counselling and Marriage Preparation. (Meetings listed in the parish Bulletin). Baptismal Teams (meet monthly on First Sunday of Month to prepare parents and Godparents). RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults). This assists in providing adult education in the parish and helping those who wish to become full members of the Catholic Church. (Meets at specified times in St Mary’s Hall). Parish Office Staff (members assist with accounts, banking money, records etc.).
Committees.	Parish Pastoral Council. This is elected and meets monthly to advise the Parish Priest on all aspects of pastoral care.
Fabric and Planning.	This small group of three members advises on property maintenance and meets as required.
St Mary’s Hall Management Team.	Deals with all aspects of the use of the Hall. Meets monthly.
St Vincent de Paul Society.	This meets weekly and helps the poor of our area regardless of denomination or background always observing strict confidentiality. Money is collected in Church each week to assist their work.
Women's Guild.	This meets weekly in St Mary’s Hall and assists in providing a social and spiritual environment for the members. St Columba’s Ladies Group. This has similar function in St Columba’s Boghall. 60’s Club. An active membership which plans activities and outings for those who are retired and which meets weekly in St Mary’s Hall.
